Now I know, I am a Multipotentialite

January is my birth month and another year will soon be added to my age. I am not getting any younger because aside from physical changes, I can also feel that my body is not that strong at it used to be.

Lately, I have been thinking about the decisions I made that have a big impact in my life, especially on my career.

I resigned from my 8-5 office job 3 years ago because the work that I have been doing for 16 years that I used to love, seemed to be less interesting (and more stressful). I wanted to check what is in store for me so I decided to resign and go freelancing.

The problem is, I have many interests so I study and do different fields in the 3 years of my freelancing career.  Just like what my mother used to tell me, I am a "jack of all trades, master of none." ( I studied Virtual Assistance under Jomar Hilario, Blogging and Social Media Entrepreneur program under Ateneo and DigitalFilipino and now I am studying an 11 module certification program on E-commerce  under Asian Institute of E-Commerce and DigitalFilipino.)

Then I came across a video on TED.com by Emilie Wapnick titled "Why some of us don't have one true calling". Now it became clear. I am a Multipotentialite, not a specialist.

Multipotentialite is a person with many interests and sometimes his or her interests are on different fields.

According to Emilie, multipotentiality is not that common because society expects us to be a specialist but there are many multipotential people who are successful even though they are pursuing different things at the same time.

I will not be frustrated anymore if I haven't found my one true calling. I just have to do my best in anything I will do and don't have to be discouraged if I suddenly lost interest in the things that excites me before because I can always use the knowledge I gained in the new path that I would pursue.

How about you? Are you also a Multipotentialite?

You can check the video below to know more about Multipotentialite.

Sagada Healing Journey 2025

My Healing Journey in Sagada  Last January 3-5, I embarked on a Sagada tour that had been on my bucket list for quite some time. Originally, I planned to go last year, but life got in the way. My friends were unavailable, and when I finally decided to join a group, my schedule became too hectic. This year, I resolved to make it happen and booked a trip through a travel agent organizing tours in Sagada. It turned out to be more than just a vacation—it became a journey of healing. A Time for Reflection As my 50th birthday approaches, I’ve been overwhelmed with emotions. Menopause, hormonal imbalance, and the weight of expectations from others have taken a toll on me. I’ve invited close friends to celebrate my milestone birthday, only to face a string of declines due to prior commitments. While I understand their reasons, it hurt deeply. It felt as though no one cared enough to adjust their plans for me. Coupled with other lingering personal challenges, this left me feeling sad...
